Fire Rainbow

I saw this coming back today from a haircut. It took about 15 minutes to get back to the office after first seeing this, then I had to go up to my office on the 8th floor to get my camera, and then go back down the elevator, and then find a spot where I could get a picture between the buildings. While these photos came out pretty good, the whole thing was much brighter, and much more distinct, about 10 minutes before I took these pictures. Oh, well! A fire rainbow, better known as a circumhorizontal arc, is a pretty rare optical phenomenon. You can learn more about it at:

We saw this all-girl mariachi band one afternoon on the Santa Fe Plaza. Unfortunately the video does do them justice. They were excellent!

More from Bandelier

Bandelier National Monument

We drove about an hour northwest of Santa Fe to Bandelier National Monument. It is in a beatiful canyon and was home to Navajo indians hundreds of years ago. Besides the beautiful scenery, you can see ruins of the pueblos (villages) that the Navajo lived in. For more information check out: http://www.nps.gov/band/

White Rock, New Mexico

One day we drove out to Bandalier National Monument. Along the way we stopped in White Rock, NM to take in the sites.
